The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cuevas gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows The Ripper to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Cuevas tries to kick The Ripper off but The Ripper keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The Ripper has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Cuevas is looking to escape.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jack The Ripper just wasn't active enough.

so The Ripper counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The Ripper controls from within his opponent's guard.
The Ripper seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cuevas for as long as he can get away with.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cuevas throws a right and a left that both miss.
Oh The Ripper is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Serafin Cuevas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cuevas looks to land a combination but The Ripper avoids it well.
The Ripper seems to have got his legs back now.
Cuevas showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from The Ripper.
The Ripper rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cuevas moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cuevas's coach down at Build Up Crossfit was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Cuevas's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Cuevas connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt The Ripper! He's out on his feet! Cuevas rushes in and drops The Ripper with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
