The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy left from Yates finds it's target.
Goncalves shoots for a takedown but Yates saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jab, jab by Yates - just one landing.
Goncalves changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yates tries to avoid it but Goncalves manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yates to the ground. Yates escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Aaron Yates.
