Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Calloway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calloway comes to the cage accompanied by The Death Symphony. Palmer is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by It's Raining men - The Weather Girls. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyler Palmer!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palmer throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
We've been hearing reports that Calloway has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Calloway shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Palmer should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Calloway missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Calloway is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Palmer is just riding it out for now. Calloway eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Calloway throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Palmer tries to kick Calloway off but Calloway keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Calloway is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Palmer wants to get back to his feet.
Calloway sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Palmer defending well though.
Calloway scoring with strikes to the body and head.


It looks like Tyler Palmer has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Palmer is trying to stand.
Palmer avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Calloway.
Calloway will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Calloway looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Palmer blocking the ground and pound attempt from Calloway.
Calloway is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Palmer is trying to stand back up but Calloway is controlling him
Calloway tries to pass the half guard into mount. Palmer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Calloway looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Palmer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Palmer can do anything to dispel that myth.
Palmer is looking to escape.
Palmer is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Calloway thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Palmer's head.
Calloway wants to free his trapped foot but Palmer is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Palmer is refusing to be controlled, as Calloway sits in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Palmer looks like he's trying to stand up.

Calloway decides to stand and escape the position.
Calloway blocks a head kick by Palmer.

Calloway gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Nice body punch from Calloway - that landed with a thud.
Palmer looks winded!

Palmer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tyler Palmer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Palmer tries to sprawl but Calloway drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Calloway not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Calloway is trying to control the action in half guard but Palmer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Calloway looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Palmer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.


The cut above Tyler Palmer's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Palmer is refusing to be controlled, as Calloway sits in half guard.
Calloway is nestled in close to Palmer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.


Tyler Palmer's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tyler Palmer's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Mark Calloway!
Mark Calloway is the new super heavyweight champion!
Mark Calloway decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
