Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ron Simon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Condit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antonio Condit is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ron Simon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Antonio Condit!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Condit lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Simon shoots in for a takedown but Condit shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Simon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Condit looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Simon goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Condit rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Simon's guard! Nice work there by Condit!

Condit drops back, looking for a kneebar! Simon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Simon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Simon!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Condit wants to get back to his feet.
Simon tries to move to full mount but Condit actually manages to regain half guard.

Simon wants to take a breather but Condit is having none of it.

Simon wants to pass to mount but Condit is defending the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Condit is trying to stand back up but Simon is controlling him
Simon is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Condit is not content to let Simon control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Simon trying to mount his opponent but Condit defends it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Condit leaves Simon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Condit stuffs the takedown.

Simon drives through and clinches with Condit against the cage.

Condit is fighting off a takedown attempt but Simon is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Condit to the mat. Condit regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Simon stops Condit from standing up.
Condit throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Simon is looking to advance position but Condit has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Simon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Poor strikes thrown by Condit there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Condit unloads with some shots from mount but Simon bucks and avoids them well.

Condit looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Simon is wriggling around trying to escape.

Condit is working for a guillotine from mount but Simon frees his head quite easily.
Simon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Simon tries to get out of the position.
Simon reaches up and holds on to Condit to control the position.

Condit is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Simon has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Simon!

Condit looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Simon advances to half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Simon lands a nice short elbow.
Simon passes the guard and advances to mount!
Simon landing punches.

Simon wants to finish this one by submission but Condit is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Simon.

Simon prevents Condit from getting the reversal.
Simon lands with some strikes.

Simon dives in and grabs Condit's left leg, looking for a takedown. Condit pushes down on Simon's head and hops out.

Simon fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Condit to the ground. Simon is now in Condit's guard.

Simon is stalling here. Condit is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Simon seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Condit has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Condit wants to lay and pray for a moment but Simon keeps working.

Condit looks up at the clock and then as Simon takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Condit smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Condit in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Simon is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
