PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rob Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and greg jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Green comes to the cage accompanied by Era - Enea Vollare Mezzo. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says jackson as he avoids it easily.
Green looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Green misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rob Green. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Green fails with the takedown.
Green avoids the body shot from jackson.
Green closes the distance and clinches up with jackson, looking for a takedown. Green pushes jackson against the cage but jackson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

jackson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

jackson tries to lock up and control but Green gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Green swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and jackson is now in Green's guard. A big mistake from Green there, giving up the dominant position!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
jackson won't allow Green to get back to his feet.
Green is breathing heavily.
jackson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Green has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but jackson has passed into side control.
Green is trying to escape the position but jackson is controlling the position.
jackson scores with a couple of short elbows.

Green manages to work his way to half guard, despite jackson's best efforts.
jackson uses his free foot to push down on Green's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Green.
Green is in all sorts of trouble here.

BOOM! jackson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Green wants to hold on but jackson pushes him away.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

I looks like jackson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Green wants to control but jackson is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
jackson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Despite being in the dominant position, greg jackson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

jackson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
jackson is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Green wants to control but jackson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Still in half guard, jackson seems content to control.

Green on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
jackson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
jackson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Green is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but jackson pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Green has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. jackson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Green.
jackson looks up at the clock and then as Green takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, jackson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Well jackson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
