The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Umezawa misses with a head kick.
Umezawa clinches up with Mikkoa and pushes him back against the cage.

Mikkoa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mikkoa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Umezawa's waist but Umezawa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mikkoa off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Mikkoa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mikkoa is breathing heavily.
Umezawa cracks Mikkoa with a right hand to the side of the head.

Mike Mikkoa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Good leg kick by Umezawa there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Umezawa takes the fight into the clinch.
A short body shot lands from Umezawa as the two fighters clinch.
Umezawa jumps into guard, dragging Mikkoa to the mat.

Umezawa seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Umezawa pushes Mikkoa off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Mikkoa walks into a jab.

Umezawa dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mikkoa. That did some damage!
Oh Mikkoa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mikkoa stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Umezawa.
Umezawa shoots in but no luck this time.
Umezawa scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mikkoa doesn't seem bothered though.
Mikkoa seems to have got his legs back now.
A solid leg kick lands there for Umezawa.
Umezawa throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mikkoa stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Umezawa pushes Mikkoa up against the cage in a clinch.

Umezawa works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
A nice left hand lands by Umezawa.
Umezawa makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Umezawa has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head that stumbles Mikkoa - he's in trouble! Another big knee to the head from Umezawa, and another! Mikkoa is out on his feet - the ref jumps in to save him and ends the fight!
