PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Hillbilly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bonus Bgc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bgc is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Na Łazarskim Rejonie. Bonus Bgc will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Hillbilly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bonus Bgc!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Franklyn Lucas and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick from Bgc.
Bgc shoots in looking for a takedown but Hillbilly manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bgc's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bgc tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hillbilly paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hillbilly avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hillbilly tries to clinch up but Bgc circles away and keeps his distance.
Bgc fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hillbilly avoids it really well and circles away.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Bgc.
Hillbilly takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Bgc shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hillbilly but Hillbilly pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jim Hillbilly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bonus Bgc.
Hillbilly pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bgc tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Hillbilly counters with a nice uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bgc shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hillbilly as he jumps to the side.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bgc tries to clinch but Hillbilly moves out of range.

Bgc tries to sprawl but Hillbilly drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Hillbilly stops Bgc from getting back to his feet.
Bgc wants to control but Hillbilly is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hillbilly looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bgc with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Hillbilly is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Hillbilly is working for a kimura but Bgc is defending it quite comfortably.
Hillbilly is controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hillbilly lands strikes from half guard.
Hillbilly is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hillbilly prevents Bgc from standing back up.
Hillbilly has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hillbilly perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hillbilly lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Bgc trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Hillbilly breaks from Bgc's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Hillbilly wants to stand but Bgc is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Hillbilly scoring with strikes but Bgc is staying in there.
Hillbilly controlling the position easily from mount.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hillbilly's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Hillbilly prevents Bgc from getting the reversal.

Hillbilly is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Bgc has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Hillbilly content just to control the position here.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hillbilly is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Hillbilly with the ground and pound from mount.
Bgc really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Hillbilly looking to control and managing it successfully.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hillbilly wants to finish this one by submission but Bgc is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hillbilly.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Hillbilly gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Bgc looking for submissions off his back.
Hillbilly keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Hillbilly tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Bgc misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Hillbilly seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bgc does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hillbilly is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bgc!

Hillbilly is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bgc can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Bgc has given up his back here.
Bgc is taking damage to the body and head.
Hillbilly is riding his opponent, not letting Bgc buck him off.
Bgc breaks Hillbilly's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hillbilly is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bgc accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bgc must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hillbilly has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jim Hillbilly wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Hillbilly shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Hillbilly is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Jim Hillbilly overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hillbilly content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Bgc trying to control from the bottom.

Bgc is looking to improve his position.
Hillbilly tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bgc knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hillbilly is keen to just control but Bgc is a slippery customer.
Bgc looks like he's trying to stand up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jim Hillbilly just wasn't active enough.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Bgc - that will leave a mark!

and Hillbilly counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hillbilly takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Hillbilly wants to stand but Bgc has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hillbilly is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Bgc pushes Hillbilly off looking to stand but Hillbilly dives back in and keeps control.
Hillbilly works his foot free and advances to mount.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hillbilly cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hillbilly trying to control but Bgc is having none of it.

Hillbilly moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bgc has worked his arm free - good work by Bgc!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Hillbilly dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bgc.
Bgc looks to clinch
and Hillbilly counters with a two punch combo.
Hillbilly is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bgc can do to turn this around?
Bgc shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hillbilly but Hillbilly pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Hillbilly gets the takedown into side control.
Hillbilly tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hillbilly wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bgc keeps working.
Hillbilly tries to stand but Bgc is controlling his head.

The referee asks Hillbilly politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hillbilly prefers to stall for the moment though.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jim Hillbilly wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Bgc fails with an attempt to clinch.

Hillbilly gets a double leg takedown into Bgc's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bgc trying to control the position.
Hillbilly wants to stand but Bgc is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bgc working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hillbilly doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hillbilly manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bgc is trying to improve his position.

Hillbilly working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Hillbilly has hold of Bgc's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Bgc seems comfortable defending it but Hillbilly has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Bgc is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Bgc is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hillbilly couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jim Hillbilly!
Jim Hillbilly took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
