PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robbie Rundun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Melchizedek Halo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rundun comes to the cage accompanied by Problem- Say That Then. The crowd seem to be enjoying Halo's choice of entrance music: God is Real - Todah & Melchizedek Order. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robbie Rundun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Melchizedek Halo!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rundun gets a takedown into half guard.

Halo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rundun pulls his head out easily.

Halo looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Rundun seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Halo gets full guard.
Rundun stopping the sweep attempt from Halo.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rundun advances position into side control!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Halo sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Halo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Halo gets full guard.
Rundun works over Halo with some ground and pound from guard.
Halo is trying to control the position but Rundun postures up.

Halo has his foot on Rundun's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rundun works his way back into a safe position though.
Rundun has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Rundun trying to control the position from guard on top but Halo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Halo throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Rundun is stalling in the full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Halo is controlling Rundun's posture.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Robbie Rundun.
Halo avoids the head kick by Rundun.
Rundun thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Halo if he has to take too many more of those.
Rundun tries to clinch

and Halo counters with a shoot takedown. Rundun fights it but they end up in guard.
Halo scoring with some ground and pound.

Halo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Rundun on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rundun tries to get out of the position.
Halo stands up over Rundun, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rundun is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Halo is controlling him.
Rundun knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Halo on the ground.
Halo wants to control from the top but Rundun keeps moving.
Halo landing some decent shots from guard.
Halo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Halo lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Halo slips nicely into half guard.

Halo is working for a submission of some sort.
Rundun has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Halo is working away from the top position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Halo content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Halo is looking to advance position but Rundun won't allow it.
Rundun wants to control but Halo is keeping busy.

Halo is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Rundun is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Melchizedek Halo!
