The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Fawkes.
Killer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Killer clinches up against the cage.

Killer has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Fawkes regains guard immediately.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Killer is pushing down on Fawkes's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fawkes is fighting to maintain full guard but Killer has managed to sneak the leg through.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Killer moves into full mount! Fawkes won't be happy about that!

Fawkes's coaches at Iron Fist Training have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Killer tries to control but Fawkes wriggling away.
Fawkes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Killer on the ground.

Fawkes has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Killer has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Fawkes! Can he survive? No! He's out! Killer gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
