Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Dimachaerus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Lock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dimachaerus comes into the arena with Metallica - The Unforgiven blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dimachaerus takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Lock throws a front kick aimed at Dimachaerus's knee but Dimachaerus avoids it well.
Lock fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dimachaerus avoids it really well and circles away.
Dimachaerus on the wrong end of a nice hook.
John Lock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Lock misses.
Lock lands a nice shot to the body.
Lock finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Lock looks to land a right hand but Dimachaerus moved out of range.

Lock shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dimachaerus as he jumps to the side.
A slow jab from Lock misses its intended target.

Dimachaerus tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Lock decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dimachaerus's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by John Lock.

A slow jab from Lock misses its intended target.
Lock lands with an overhand left.
Lock throws a right hand that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Dimachaerus lands a jab-cross combination.


It looks like John Lock has been cut.

Lock bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lock just content to control the position.

Dimachaerus is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lock has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Lock moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lock is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Lock lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

and Dimachaerus counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lock thinking.
Lock lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
We've been told by Dimachaerus's head coaches at Soul Supremacy LA Elite that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A jab lands there for Lock.
Lock thows a leg kick but Dimachaerus checks it
and Dimachaerus counters with a two punch combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lock lands a really nice looking cross but Dimachaerus seems unphased.
John Lock seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Lock throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Lock works Dimachaerus's body with a nice hook.
Lock chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Lock is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dimachaerus sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Lock throws a big shot that misses.
Dimachaerus takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Lock scores with a jab. Dimachaerus acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Lock connects with a leg kick. Dimachaerus looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Lock misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Dimachaerus counters with a stiff right hand.

That has opened up John Lock's cut even more.

and Dimachaerus moves into the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lock prevents the takedown attempt.

Lock is trying to break free.

Lock pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dimachaerus walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Lock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Dimachaerus misses with a series of wild punches.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dimachaerus looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lock misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A slapping leg kick lands for Lock.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Lock, right into the meat.
Marcus Dimachaerus is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Dimachaerus uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lock.

Lock closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dimachaerus quickly recovers to half guard.
Dimachaerus is refusing to be controlled, as Lock sits in half guard.
Lock controlling the pace.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Dimachaerus is staying active underneath Lock, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John Lock hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Dimachaerus checks a low kick from Lock.
Lock misses with a left hand
and Dimachaerus counters with a series of strikes. Lock will be more careful next time no doubt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dimachaerus with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lock to score with a decent uppercut.
Dimachaerus tries to close the distance and clinch but Lock swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lock misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dimachaerus.
Marcus Dimachaerus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dimachaerus takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dimachaerus is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
John Lock is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Dimachaerus moves out of range of the strikes.
Dimachaerus fails with a takedown attempt.
Lock has a takedown stuffed.

Dimachaerus closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Lock is not content to let Dimachaerus control the position.
Lock is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Dimachaerus looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Dimachaerus creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Lock sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Dimachaerus tries for a kimura but Lock is defending well.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to John Lock.
Well Lock has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
