Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peter Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Cider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parker comes to the cage accompanied by Spiderman theme song. Paul Cider has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Paul Cider!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker keeps the fight on the outside.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Parker pushes off an throws an elbow but Cider leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Cider misses with a knee to the head.
Parker lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Parker goes for a takedown in the clinch but Cider prevents it.
Cider tries a knee to the head but Parker blocks it.

Cider pulls guard.
Parker is looking to stand up but Cider won't let him.
Cider trying to keep a closed guard but Parker is proving a slippery customer.

Parker drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cider manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Parker has Cider in his guard.
Cider wants to control from the top but Parker keeps moving.
Cider not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Cider thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Cider with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Cider trying to control the position from guard on top but Parker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cider forces his way into half guard.

Parker actively working from the bottom here.

Cider is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Parker doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cider.

Cider tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Parker.
Cider stops Parker from getting back to his feet.
Parker won't allow Cider to pass to mount.
Parker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cider on the ground.

Parker kicks Cider off and gets back to his feet.

Parker clinches up against the cage.

Parker jumps guard and drags Cider to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Cider stops Parker from standing up.
Cider is looking to work some ground and pound but Parker has wrist control.
Cider slips nicely into half guard.
Parker is looking to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cider stops Parker from getting back to his feet.
Parker throws a strike from the bottom but Cider passes into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cider fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Parker lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Parker closes the distance but Cider moves to the side

and Cider counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cider.

Cider drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cider jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Parker manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Parker shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Parker will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Parker closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Parker drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cider pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Parker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Parker throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Parker moves in looking to clinch but Cider pushes him off.

Cider bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Parker tries to buck Cider off but Cider is having none of it.
Cider wants to control but Parker is keeping him busy.

Parker is trying to escape the position but Cider is controlling the position.
Cider works to advance to full mount. Parker defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Cider trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Cider is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Parker can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The referee warns Parker that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Parker regains half guard.

Cider looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Cider is looking to pass Parker's guard but actually Parker recovers to full guard.
Cider trying to control the position from guard on top but Parker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Parker looking for a sweep. Not yet Parker, not yet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Parker looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Cider wants to pass the guard but Parker is keeping the position.
Cider stops Parker from standing up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Parker tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Cider decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Parker's guard.
Cider trying to control but Parker is working from the bottom.
Parker wants to stand but Cider is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Cider showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Parker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


A chopping leg kick lands by Parker.
Cider has a takedown stuffed.
Parker misses with a double jab.
Parker shoots and misses

and Cider counters with a nice double leg into side control. Parker won't be happy with that.

Cider working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Parker is looking to escape.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Cider is tying to control. Parker wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Parker tries to get to full guard but Cider has control of the leg.

Cider tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cider on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Parker. Parker obviously looking to wear him down.

Parker thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Cider wants to control from the top but Parker keeps moving.

Parker uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Cider decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Parker has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cider is working away from the top position though.

Parker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Cider works his foot free and advances to mount.
Cider can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Parker is looking to escape.
Peter Parker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Cider landing strikes from the mount and Parker is in trouble!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cider looking to control but Parker is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Cider goes for an armbar but Parker turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Parker.
Parker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cider works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Parker won't allow Cider to sweep him here.
Parker wanted to stand there but Cider had control of the position.
Cider wants to sweep here but Parker controlling him for the moment.

And that's the end of the fight!
Paul Cider comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Cider winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
