Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, The Spartan!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riggs avoids the body shot from Spartan.

Riggs fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Spartan to the ground. Riggs is now in Spartan's guard.
Riggs makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Riggs distracts Spartan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Spartan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Riggs is controlling him.
Riggs has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Riggs drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Spartan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Riggs has Spartan in his guard.

Spartan drops back looking for a leg! Riggs is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Riggs manages to kick Spartan off! Spartan jumps back into Riggs's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Riggs thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Spartan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Riggs wants to sweep here but Spartan controlling him for the moment.
Riggs lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Spartan!

Riggs lands with some strikes.
Riggs definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Riggs lands a big elbow.

Spartan is rocked!
Riggs lands a big shot to the head and Spartan winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

A relieved looking John Riggs thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
