Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Gates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donald Trump (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Donald Trump!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trump throws a half hearted mid kick.

Gates darts in and clinches Trump up against the cage.
Trump wants a takedown but no success here.
Gates can't get the takedown.
Trump prevents a takedown attempt there.
Trump gets underhooks to prevent Gates's takedown attempt.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Trump can do anything to dispel that myth.

Trump felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gates in particular looking to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jack Gates.

Gates feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Gates got a little sloppy there for a moment and Trump has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gates has managed to get both his arms back between Trump's legs - danger averted.
