And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wes Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Strong looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Alvarez is looking for a kimura here.
Strong looking for submissions off his back.
Strong with the active half guard here but Alvarez passes nicely into side control.

Alvarez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Strong is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Alvarez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Strong, who protects the arm well.
Strong tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Alvarez wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Strong is trying to work for a sweep but Alvarez has mounted him!
Alvarez is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Alvarez!
