The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wheelright tries to move into range but Cade moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Cade swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Wheelright's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Cade connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Wheelright scrambles back to his feet.
Wheelright connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Wheelright lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Cade has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Cade and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Wheelright bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Cade regains half guard there - taking advantage of Wheelright's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Wheelright does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Cade. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cade shoots for a double leg takedown but Wheelright sprawls well. He's pushed Cade's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Wheelright is taking a breather. Cade says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Wheelright working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Lazerus Wheelright hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Well Wheelright has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
