The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santiago throws a body punch but Johnson moves out of range.
Santiago misses with a hook. Johnson ducked under it nicely.
Santiago is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Johnson .
Johnson throws a nice looking combination but Santiago bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Johnson gets a takedown into half guard.

Johnson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Santiago slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santiago. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Santiago has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Johnson is working away from the top position though.
Johnson is nestled in close to Santiago, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Johnson works his foot free and advances to mount.
Johnson unloads with some shots from mount but Santiago bucks and avoids them well.

Santiago is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Johnson 's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Johnson 's back!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Santiago is not going to allow Johnson to sit and survive in this position.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Santiago's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Even with his hooks in, Santiago manages to miss with strikes from the back.
