The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laurier scores with a jab. Boyka acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Boyka is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Boyka wants to clinch
and Laurier counters with a left and a right that stings Boyka.
Wilfrid Laurier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Laurier lands a leg kick that knocks Boyka off balance momentarily.
Laurier throws a leg kick which misses Boyka's front leg but catches the back leg as Boyka tries to avoid it.
Boyka looks winded!
Nice shot lands for Laurier.

It looks like Juri Boyka has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Boyka darts in trying to clinch
and Laurier makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Boyka takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Laurier throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Boyka is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
