Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Risto Haeyhae (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Roger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Risto Haeyhae!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Roger!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roger throws a right and a left that both miss.
Haeyhae keeps the fight on the outside.

Haeyhae has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Roger is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Roger jumps guard.
Roger is looking to stand up but Haeyhae isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Roger keeping moving, preventing Haeyhae from controlling successfully.

Roger tries to reverse the position but Haeyhae maintains control.

Roger is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Haeyhae tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Roger swivels and escapes.

Roger tries to clinch up but Haeyhae circles away and keeps his distance.

The fight stays on the outside here - Roger looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Roger dives in and grabs Haeyhae's left leg, looking for a takedown. Haeyhae pushes down on Roger's head and hops out.

Haeyhae sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Roger's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Haeyhae passes Roger's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Haeyhae is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Roger sees it coming and defends easily.

Haeyhae is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Haeyhae moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Roger has worked his arm free - good work by Roger!

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Roger should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Roger shoots in for a double leg but Haeyhae sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Roger takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Haeyhae slaps away a takedown attempt from Roger, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Haeyhae shoots in looking for a takedown. Roger tries to sprawl out of it but Haeyhae keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Roger manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Roger throws a low kick but Haeyhae moves out of range easily.

Haeyhae postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Roger is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Haeyhae, into his guard.

Haeyhae looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Roger postures up in Haeyhae's guard and throws a big left but Haeyhae blocks it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Haeyhae holds on and takes a little breather.
Haeyhae wants to sweep but no luck.

Haeyhae has his foot on Roger's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Roger works his way back into a safe position though.

Roger is trying desperately to improve position.
Roger wants to control but Haeyhae is having none of it.

Haeyhae goes for an armbar but Roger turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Roger.

Haeyhae looking for a sweep. Not yet Haeyhae, not yet.
Haeyhae lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Roger!

Haeyhae is working for a guillotine from mount but Roger frees his head quite easily.
Risto Haeyhae is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Roger sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

And that's the end of the fight!
Risto Haeyhae showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Haeyhae, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
