Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paul is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Davis's half guard.

Davis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Paul swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Davis is now in Paul's guard. A big mistake from Paul there, giving up the dominant position!
Paul wants to stand up but Davis is controlling him.

Paul is pulling down on Davis's head to control his posture.
Paul has a closed guard, preventing Davis from standing up.
Paul wants to sweep but no luck.
Davis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Paul bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Davis's guard.
Paul postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Paul is pushing down on Davis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Davis is fighting to maintain full guard but Paul has managed to sneak the leg through.

Paul is working for a kimura but Davis is defending it quite comfortably.

Paul looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Davis keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dj Paul dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Davis misses with a takedown attempt - Paul sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Paul counters with a nice double leg into side control. Davis won't be happy with that.

Paul is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Davis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Paul is looking to take a break and control but Davis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Paul is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Davis's shoulder. That is not cool.
Dj Paul has got the better of the ground game so far.

Davis tries to bench press Paul off him but Paul keeps the position.

Paul working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Paul is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Davis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Paul has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Paul works to advance to full mount. Davis defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Oh Davis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Paul lands with some strikes.
Paul cracks Davis with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
