Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alex Karelin!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karelin has his takedown stuffed

and Ball counters with a crisp one two that drops Karelin! Ball thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Karelin to his feet! Karelin is in big trouble!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Good standup being displayed there by Karelin as he connects with a hook.
Ball throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ball drops his hands momentarily and Karelin takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Ball looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Ball trying to control the position from guard on top but Karelin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Karelin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ball gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Karelin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ball has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ball accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ball controls from within his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ball got a little sloppy there for a moment and Karelin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ball has managed to get both his arms back between Karelin's legs - danger averted.
Ball postures up and lands a big shot to Karelin's brow.

Ball is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Ball working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Karelin's head.

Ball is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Ball knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Karelin on the ground.
Ball postures up in Karelin's guard and throws a big left but Karelin blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ball seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Ball gets to his feet - Karelin follows without any prompting.
Ball tries to clinch but Karelin moves out of range.

Ball shoots in and bounces Karelin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Ball scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Ball trying to control the position from guard on top but Karelin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Karelin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Ball looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Karelin looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Ball puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Ground and pound from Ball.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ball controlling the action here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ball wants to control but Karelin is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Snow Ball dominated that round.
That's time! Ball's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Ball doesn't manage to clinch there - Karelin circles away.
Snow Ball is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Karelin avoids a punch combination nicely.
Horrible takedown by Ball or perhaps it was just good defense by Karelin which made him look bad.
Karelin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ball stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Oooooh!!! Ball has knocked Karelin down with a huge combo! Ball steps away and waves a wobbly Karelin back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


It looks like Alex Karelin has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ball shoots in for a takedown and gets it, with a heavy slam. That will score well with the judges.


Karelin is rocked!

Ball stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Karelin is still on wobbly legs! Can Ball finish him?
Ball shoots in but no luck this time.
Karelin seems to have recovered his senses.
Ball misses with a double jab.
Karelin stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Snow Ball. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ball dives in for a single leg takedown but Karelin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Ball tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Karelin just stands there and leans against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ball taking a breather.
Ball is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Karelin can do to turn this around?
Ball tries to circle away but Karelin has him pinned against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Ball's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Ball goes for a takedown attempt but Karelin pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ball takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Karelin ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ball moves to clinch but Karelin breaks away
and Karelin counters with a three punch combo that has Ball backing up. Ball nods at Karelin to acknowledge the strikes.
Karelin is breathing heavily.
Ball pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Karelin misses with a body punch
letting Ball counter with a right hand.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Karelin!
Karelin throws a series of punches but Ball avoids them all with ease.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ball's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Karelin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ball is one step ahead there.

Ball postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.


That has opened up Alex Karelin's cut even more.

Ball is working Karelin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Snow Ball.
Ball is looking to clinch but Karelin is avoiding it.
Alex Karelin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ball lands a left and a right that send Karelin crashing to the mat, dazed. Ball thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


The cut above Alex Karelin's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Alex Karelin's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Snow Ball!
