PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tom Servo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and dave schneider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for schneider with that takedown attempt.
schneider tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Servo swivels and escapes.
Servo closes the distance and clinches up with schneider, looking for a takedown. Servo pushes schneider against the cage but schneider circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Servo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Servo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Servo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Servo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Servo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

schneider is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Servo jumps guard but schneider stands there with Servo around his waist. Servo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Servo is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. schneider can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Servo could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

schneider has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Servo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Servo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for schneider on the ground.

schneider is taking a breather. Servo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Servo is bucking up trying to escape but schneider cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Let's hope that schneider has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

dave schneider showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

schneider moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Servo has worked his arm free - good work by Servo!

Servo is trying to stick to schneider's back but schneider is turning into Servo. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Servo's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by schneider.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

schneider wants to control but Servo is keeping him busy.
Servo tries to kick schneider off in order to stand up. schneider Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Servo tries to buck schneider off but schneider is having none of it.
Servo pushes schneider away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, schneider gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
