Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pat Barry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edward Ransel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barry lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ransel's sensitive parts.
Barry throws a head kick but Ransel moves out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ransel tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Barry swivels and escapes.
Barry misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Ransel postures up in Barry's guard and throws a big left but Barry blocks it.
Ransel with a nice head shot there.
Ransel with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Barry can't keep his opponent in guard - Ransel advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Barry trying to hold on to Ransel's head to control him but Ransel postures up.
Ransel takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Ransel is nestled in close to Barry, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ransel looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Barry with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Barry knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ransel on the ground.

It looks like Pat Barry has been cut.
Barry on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Barry tries to get out of the position.
