Gorman comes to the cage accompanied by Pinned Down. The crowd seem to be enjoying Sanders's choice of entrance music: Freddie Gibbs - Still Livin'. Rod Sanders is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rod Sanders!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanders lands a high kick!


It looks like Glen Gorman has been cut.
Gorman lands with a nice combination. Sanders backs away looking to recover.
Sanders misses with a head kick.
Gorman tries to clinch up.
Sanders fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gorman has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Gorman throws a hook to the side of Sanders's head but Sanders sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Sanders tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sanders connects with an inside leg kick.
Gorman looks to land a right hand but Sanders moved out of range.
Sanders turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Gorman throws a looping overhand right but Sanders ducks down to avoid it.
Gorman takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Sanders is looking to score with low kicks.
Sanders blocks a jab.

Sanders closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Still in half guard, Sanders seems content to control.
Gorman on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Well, if Sanders is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Sanders has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Sanders throws a strike but Gorman avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sanders in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Sanders controlling from the top position.
Sanders stopping the sweep attempt from Gorman.
Sanders passes Gorman's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Sanders drops an elbow to the side of Gorman's head.
Nice strikes from Sanders there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sanders is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Gorman is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rod Sanders!
After winning the bout, Rod Sanders thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
