Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rason Fairs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demetrius Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fairs comes into the arena with eye of the tiger blaring out of the sound system. Morris has chosen Ludacris - Move Bitch as his entrance music. Rason Fairs had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rason Fairs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Demetrius Morris!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Kavanagh and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morris with a poor takedown
and Fairs counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Morris doesn't succeed with the takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Morris shoots in but no luck this time.
Rason Fairs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Demetrius Morris.
Fairs shoots in for a takedown but Morris shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Morris shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fairs defends it nicely.
Fairs looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Fairs drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Morris manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Fairs has Morris in his guard.

Morris must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Morris dives in for a single leg takedown but Fairs sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Fairs doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Morris looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Morris throws a strike but Fairs rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Demetrius Morris hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Fairs counters with a body kick that stops Morris in his tracks momentarily.

Morris closes the distance and clinches up with Fairs, looking for a takedown. Morris pushes Fairs against the cage but Fairs circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Fairs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morris swivels though and keeps the full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rason Fairs overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fairs creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Morris sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Fairs throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Fairs tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fairs has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Fairs misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Fairs wants to lay and pray for a moment but Morris keeps working.
Fairs lands a nice forearm strike.

Fairs tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Morris is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Fairs asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

and Fairs counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Fairs dives in and grabs Morris's left leg, looking for a takedown. Morris pushes down on Fairs's head and hops out.
Morris closes the distance and clinches up with Fairs, looking for a takedown. Morris pushes Fairs against the cage but Fairs circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fairs swats away the attempt to clinch by Morris.
Horrible takedown by Morris or perhaps it was just good defense by Fairs which made him look bad.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Fairs lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.


Morris is rocked!
Fairs lands a heavy elbow.
Morris is still in real trouble! Can Fairs finish him?
Fairs with the ground and pound from mount.
Fairs in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Fairs postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Morris badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Fairs around the waist but Fairs pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Fairs is the winner by TKO! Fairs jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rason Fairs!
A less than humble Rason Fairs misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
