The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soze avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Irwin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Irwin lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Soze closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
With the fighters up against the cage, Soze throws an elbow but misses.
Soze tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Irwin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Soze moves into range and clinches up with Irwin.
Irwin blocks an elbow strike.
Soze pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

I was talking to Irwin's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Irwin stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Irwin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Irwin smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Soze is rocked!

Are you kidding me?! Irwin ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Soze clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
