Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ric Borden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tatsuya Kawajiri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tatsuya Kawajiri!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kawajiri shoots in and bounces Borden off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

and Kawajiri counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kawajiri accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Tatsuya Kawajiri has got the better of the ground game so far.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Kawajiri uses his free foot to push down on Borden's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Borden.
Borden is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tatsuya Kawajiri showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Kawajiri is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Borden can't fight it off and eventually Kawajiri manages to take the fight to the floor. Borden looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ric Borden has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tatsuya Kawajiri is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
