PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jameson Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dj Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jameson Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dj Paul!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee has Paul up against the cage in a clinch.
Paul wants to break free but Lee has control.
Lee tries to score a body lock takedown but Paul shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Lee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lee tries to clinch up.
Lee throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Lee feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Lee has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Paul is proving hard to escape from.
Lee will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Paul keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.
Paul looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Paul pulls Lee in close to prevent any damage.
Paul is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Lee has his takedown stuffed

and Paul counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paul drops an elbow to the side of Lee's head.
Lee is looking for a sweep. Paul is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Paul looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lee with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Paul is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Paul has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Lee defend it? Paul steps over the head and cranks it - Lee is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Paul!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Dj Paul!
