Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Erkki Putkilo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Bison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bison will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bison.
Bison tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Putkilo defends well and Bison ends up having to push Putkilo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Erkki Putkilo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Bison.

Putkilo has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Bison is trying to keep an underhook but Putkilo manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Putkilo not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Bison is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Putkilo pulls his head out easily.
Putkilo looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Putkilo thows a huge punch but Bison dodges it nicely.
Bison is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Putkilo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Putkilo's back!
Putkilo can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bison is landing with strikes. Putkilo can't take much more of this.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bison is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Putkilo is defending well though. Bison let's go of the attempt for now.
Putkilo tries to escape the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bison is trying to stick to Putkilo's back but Putkilo is turning into Bison. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Bison's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Putkilo.
Putkilo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Putkilo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Putkilo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Bison has his foot on Putkilo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Putkilo works his way back into a safe position though.
Bison not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Putkilo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Bison throws his legs up looking for a submission but Putkilo uses it to pass to side control.
Putkilo scores with a couple of short elbows.
Bison taking punishment in the form of punches.
Putkilo has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Bison is trying desperately to improve position.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Putkilo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Putkilo looking to control but Bison is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Putkilo lands a big shot there that rocks Bison but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Putkilo has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Bison is forced to tap!
