The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuivanen gets caught napping as Da Gaucho dives in and scores a takedown. Kuivanen manages to retain guard.
Da Gaucho is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Da Gaucho got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kuivanen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Da Gaucho has managed to get both his arms back between Kuivanen's legs - danger averted.

Kuivanen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Da Gaucho doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Da Gaucho manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Da Gaucho slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
