Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mariusz Max (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicky Salita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Salita has chosen Lose Yourself by Eminem as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Max closes this distance looking for a takedown but Salita circles away.
Nicky Salita seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Salita works Max's body with a nice hook.
Sloppy strikes from Max. Those never looked like landing.
Salita tries to bum rush Max with a series of wild strikes but Max uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Max shoots in looking for a takedown. Salita tries to sprawl out of it but Max keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Salita manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Salita scores with a sloppy right hand. Max should have avoided that one.

It looks like Mariusz Max has been cut.

Salita closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Salita lands in his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Salita is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Max is just riding it out for now. Salita eventually gives up the hold.

Salita is looking for a kimura but Max is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Salita to get the leverage.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Max tries to kick Salita off but Salita keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Max is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Salita scores with a couple of nice shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Max tries to get to full guard but Salita has control of the leg.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Salita connects with a nice short shot to Max's temple.

Max is rocked!
Salita seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Oh Max is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Salita lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Max! More strikes land and this one is all over! Salita jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
