The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morrow thows a body shot but no joy.
Funkyama fails with the takedown.
Morrow looks to throw the jab but Funkyama is out of range.
Morrow leaves Funkyama with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Morrow is looking to land body kicks.
Funkyama looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

so Funkyama counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Morrow is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Morrow told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Funkyama has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Morrow can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Aoki Funkyama dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Morrow pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Morrow misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Funkyama.
Morrow goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

and Morrow counters with a straight right hand.
Morrow lands with an uppercut that bounces Funkyama off the cage and back into range.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Morrow.
Funkyama avoids a kick to the body.
Morrow ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Funkyama moves away.
Funkyama shoots in looking for a takedown but Morrow manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Funkyama's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Morrow decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Funkyama is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Morrow seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Morrow slips a nice elbow through Funkyama's hands, connecting with Funkyama's forehead.

Morrow looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Funkyama with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Morrow is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Funkyama has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Morrow is looking to defend but Funkyama has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Morrow! Funkyama pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Morrow taps out and this one is all over!
