Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shina Aoyki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jo Silva will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoyki connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Aoyki throws a solid leg kick but Silva takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Aoyki.
Nice takedown defense from Aoyki. No joy for Silva on that attempt.
Silva avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Aoyki. Silva shrugs it off though.

Silva has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Aoyki is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Silva.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Silva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Aoyki stands and steps away. Silva gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Aoyki lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Silva has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Silva and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Aoyki looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
