Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tommi Lackstrom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Taran Zu!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zu with a poor takedown
and Lackstrom moves into the clinch.
Zu landing knees to the body.
Lackstrom has Zu pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Lackstrom pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Zu tumbling to the mat - Lackstrom dives into Zu's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Lackstrom not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Lackstrom passes Zu's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Lackstrom is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Zu defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lackstrom is taking a breather. Zu says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Zu has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Gladiators **ELITE** Steel Penn. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Zu wants to control but Lackstrom is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lackstrom is trying for a kimura here. Zu looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Lackstrom wins by kimura!

After winning the bout, Tommi Lackstrom thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
