Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Carson Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Punchy Puncherson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hughes comes to the cage accompanied by damn it feels good to be a gangsta. Puncherson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mama Said Knock You Out kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puncherson throws out a powerful jab.
Hughes lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Puncherson tried to score with a low kick but Hughes checks it.
Puncherson misses with a body kick.
Hughes throws the kick towards the body but Puncherson avoids it.

Puncherson tries to keep at a distance but Hughes has taken the fight into the clinch.
Puncherson is pushing Hughes up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Hughes is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Puncherson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hughes checks the leg kick nicely there.
Hughes uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Puncherson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hughes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Puncherson circles away quickly and effectively.

Carson Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Puncherson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Puncherson thows a huge punch but Hughes dodges it nicely.

Puncherson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hughes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Puncherson winds up and cracks Hughes with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Hughes has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Puncherson is on him like a limpet, forcing Hughes back against the cage.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hughes, as that shot connected.
Hughes is looking to clinch but Puncherson is avoiding it.
Hughes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Puncherson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Hughes pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Puncherson back to the cage. Hughes follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Punchy Puncherson has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hughes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Puncherson was well out of range. Poor timing from Hughes.
Puncherson feints and then cracks Hughes's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hughes down.

Hughes takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hughes moves in looking to clinch but Puncherson pushes him off.
Puncherson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

A clash of legs there as Hughes blocks the low kick.
Hughes thuds his right hand into Puncherson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Hughes avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Nice straight punches there by Hughes. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hughes.
Good leg kick by Puncherson there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Carson Hughes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hughes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hughes throws a right and a left that both miss.

Hughes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Puncherson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Puncherson scores with a head kick. Hughes tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Punchy Puncherson was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
