The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rodriguez rushes Jankowski and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Rodriguez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Rodriguez feints and as Jankowski raises his hands in defense, Rodriguez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rodriguez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jankowski swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rodriguez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Rodriguez wants to control from the top but Jankowski keeps moving.
Jankowski is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rodriguez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Jankowski is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Rodriguez frees his head nicely. Oh but Jankowski has switched to an armbar! Rodriguez is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
