Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Virgil Little!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Delo!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Delo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Delo throws a sloppy head kick
letting Little counter with a right hand.
It looks like Josh Delo has been cut.
Little tries to keep at a distance but Delo has taken the fight into the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Little fails to land.
Delo is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Little to keep the fight standing.
Delo missing with knees to the body.
Little stalling.
Delo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Little has him pressed against the cage.
Delo manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Little gets control of Delo's arms and successfully pulls guard. Little will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Delo wanted to stand there but Little had control of the position.
Little wants to get back to his feet but Delo is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Little controls Delo momentarily but Delo frees himself.
Delo is looking to stand up but Little won't let him.
Delo forces his way into half guard.
Little could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Delo is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Little is trying to maintain the position but Delo is very close to passing his half guard.
Delo throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Little to regain full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Delo has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Little is proving hard to escape from.
Little wants to control but Delo passes easily into half guard.
Delo lands strikes from half guard.
Delo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Delo looking to control and managing it successfully.
Delo thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Delo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Delo is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Little is forced to tap! Great finish!
