PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barton Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mahmud Magomedov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucas throws a series of punches but Magomedov avoids them all with ease.
Lucas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Magomedov paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Magomedov gets a clinch.
Lucas is trying to stall.
Lucas is working for takedown but Magomedov is calmly controlling the position for now.
Magomedov lands a shoulder strike.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Magomedov as Lucas tries to tie him up.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Magomedov is looking to break free of the clinch but Lucas has double underhooks.
Lucas is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Lucas is looking to control Magomedov's arms but Magomedov gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lucas has his back to the cage.
Lucas is trying to drag Magomedov to the mat but Magomedov just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Magomedov is trying to trip Lucas. He has hold of a leg but Lucas is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Magomedov persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Lucas is looking for a triangle here but Magomedov uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lucas tries to reverse the position but Magomedov maintains control.
Oh Lucas is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lucas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Magomedov loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Lucas scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Magomedov land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Magomedov stands and salutes the crowd.
