Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Josh Butler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Messer!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Butler, right into the meat.
Butler buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Butler has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Messer swinging wildly here.
Messer just misses with a punch to the body.
Butler scores with a leg kick.
Messer tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Butler throws a sloppy head kick and Messer moves out of range easily.
Messer swings for the body but Butler moves out of range.
Messer throws a jab but it's blocked by Butler.
Messer wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Butler.
Messer misses with a wild combination.
That kick from Butler tenderised Messer's leg. Messer is trying to keep his angry face on.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Butler throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Messer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Butler moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Messer jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Messer throws a lazy uppercut
and Butler counters with an outside leg kick.
Messer misses with a hook
and Butler counters with a nice low kick that buckles Messer's knee momentarily.
Messer takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Messer looks winded!
Messer throws a head kick that misses.
Butler fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Messer.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Butler lands a high kick!
Butler throws a nice inside leg kick.
Butler buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Butler lands a head kick!


It looks like Mark Messer has been cut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Messer stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Butler.
Butler lands with a slapping head kick.
Butler lands a brutal head kick. Messer looks out on his feet and Butler throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Josh Butler!
After the fight, Josh Butler was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
