The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lannister closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gaarlandt to the mat! Gaarlandt manages to get full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Gaarlandt is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lannister defends well.

Lannister got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gaarlandt has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lannister has managed to get both his arms back between Gaarlandt's legs - danger averted.

That was a close round but I would say that Jesus Gaarlandt will probably get the nod.

Gaarlandt is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Lannister has his hands clasped together but Gaarlandt extends and breaks Lannister's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Gaarlandt.
