Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lou Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lou Peters has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lou Peters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Danny Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peters moves in looking to clinch but Sanchez pushes him off.

Peters closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Peters taking a breather here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Peters's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Sanchez wants to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Peters is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Lou Peters wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Peters instigates a clinch.
Sanchez working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Peters can't break the clinch.
Peters wants to get back to striking at distance but Sanchez won't allow it.
Sanchez effectively controlling the action here.
Sanchez tries to break free but Peters pushes him back against the cage.
Peters tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sanchez just stands there and leans against the cage.

Still in half guard, Peters seems content to control.
Sanchez pushes Peters off but Peters dives into side control.
Sanchez pushes Peters away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Peters gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Peters is chipping away with strikes.
Sanchez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Peters. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Peters controls the position from side control.
Sanchez is pushing Peters's head away, looking to escape. Peters manages to hold on to the position though.

Peters is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sanchez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Sanchez is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Peters has just dragged him back down to the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Peters grinds an elbow into Sanchez's temple.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sanchez tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Peters get's back to his feet.
Peters looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sanchez lands a leg kick that knocks Peters off balance momentarily.
Sanchez pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Peters walks into a straight right hand from Sanchez.
Sanchez throws a nice inside leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Peters decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sanchez pushes Peters off but Peters dives into side control.

Peters is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sanchez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Sanchez tries to escape but Peters is in control.
Sanchez trying to remain calm as Peters controls from the top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Peters works to advance to full mount. Sanchez defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Peters tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
You get the feeling that Sanchez really doesn't like being in this position too much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lou Peters dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Sanchez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Peters.
Peters throws a sloppy head kick and Sanchez moves out of range easily.
Sanchez thumps Peters with a low kick.
Sanchez throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sanchez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sanchez misses with an attempted mid kick.
Lou Peters is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Peters gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Sanchez is trying to stall.
Peters jumps guard but Sanchez turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Sanchez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Peters effectively controlling the action here.
Sanchez keeps control of Peters as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Peters really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Sanchez is trying to break the clinch but Peters has him pressed against the cage.
Sanchez misses with an elbow over the top.
Peters is looking to break free of the clinch but Sanchez has double underhooks.
Sanchez is trying to force a seperation but Peters has the dominant position.

Peters pulls Sanchez into guard.
Sanchez tries to stand but Peters is controlling from the bottom.
Peters bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sanchez's guard.
Peters is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Peters looking to pass the guard.

Sanchez is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Peters dives into side control.
Sanchez pushes Peters away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Peters gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Peters controls the position.
Sanchez is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Peters has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Peters working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Peters has hold of Sanchez's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Sanchez seems comfortable defending it but Peters has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Sanchez is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Sanchez is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Peters couldn't care less - he's delighted!
