The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anderson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Anderson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Gaines breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Anderson throws a series of punches but Gaines moves out of range.

Anderson moves into the clinch.
Anderson is looking to break free of the clinch but Gaines has double underhooks.

Gaines goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Anderson turns into him and now he's in Gaines's guard.

Gaines lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Arron Gaines will probably get the nod.

Gaines is trying to trip Anderson. He has hold of a leg but Anderson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Gaines persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

and Anderson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Anderson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gaines defends well and Anderson ends up having to push Gaines into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Gaines has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Anderson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Gaines stuffs the takedown attempt from Anderson. Anderson gets slowly back to his feet.
Gaines tries to close the distance and clinch up but Anderson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Anderson goes for a double leg but Gaines avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Gaines continues to drive forward.
Gaines wants to take the fight to the mat but Anderson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Gaines lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Gaines ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gaines no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gaines manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Anderson manages to get himself to full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gaines accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
