Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dino Simmons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bob Smith!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons tries for a takedown but Smith sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Smith looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Simmons throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like Bob Smith has been cut.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Simmons could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Simmons is defended easily by Smith.
Simmons circles away from the clinch attempt.
Simmons shoots in and drives through. Smith sprawls well.

Simmons throws a right hand that Smith ducks under and follows up with a left that Smith also avoids with ease.

Simmons fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Smith, pushing him back against the cage.

Smith keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Simmons is retaining full guard.

Simmons closes the distance and clinches up with Smith, looking for a takedown. Simmons pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Smith looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Simmons fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Smith has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Bob Smith has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dino Simmons is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Simmons counters with a good low kick that Smith was not able to check.
