Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chang Harmon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chang Harmon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Jones!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Sergei Dronov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Harmon wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.
Jones drops an elbow to the side of Harmon's head.
Harmon wants to sweep but Jones has passed to side control!

Harmon manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Harmon works his way to full guard. Good work.
Harmon wants to stand and escape but Jones is having none of it.

Harmon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well.
Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Harmon manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Harmon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Harmon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Harmon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Harmon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape.

We're going to have a standup here because Chang Harmon wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Jones shoots for a takedown but Harmon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Jones moves into range and clinches up with Harmon.

Jones has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Harmon is trying to keep an underhook but Jones manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Harmon is looking to escape.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Harmon is looking to regain half guard here but Jones keeps moving and retains side control.
Jones is putting a hurting on Harmon here, landing some big shots from side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Chang Harmon will probably get the nod.

Harmon gets tackled into the cage by Jones. Jones maintains the clinch.
Jones jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Harmon walks away with a smile on his face. Jones gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Jones tries to score a body lock takedown but Harmon shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Harmon is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Jones keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Harmon's efforts to push away.
Jones tries to pull guard but Harmon won't allow it.
Chang Harmon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Jones.

Jones tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Harmon goes for a takedown attempt but Jones pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Jones takes the fight into the clinch.

Jones turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Harmon manages to get back to half guard.
Jones is taking a breather. Harmon says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Jones prevents Harmon from improving his position.
Harmon works his way to full guard. Good work.
Harmon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Harmon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Jones is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jones is breathing heavily.

Jones is working an open guard so Harmon takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Jones throws a sloppy head kick
and Harmon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Harmon as he jumps to the side.
Harmon fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jones throws a right and a left that Harmon avoids nicely.
Harmon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.

Harmon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jones is trying to defend but Harmon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Harmon perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Chang Harmon will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Jones drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Harmon tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Harmon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jones!
Jones tries to lock up and control but Harmon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jones squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Jones is squirming around, avoiding Harmon's attempts to control the action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Chang Harmon wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Jones throws a right hand that Harmon ducks under and follows up with a left that Harmon also avoids with ease.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harmon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Harmon gets slowly back to his feet.
Jones throws a quick inside leg kick.
Harmon throws a jab when Jones was well out of range.
Jones stalks Harmon and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Harmon's face. Harmon staggers backwards, shaken.

Jones looks for a takedown but Harmon sprawls well.
Jones throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Harmon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Harmon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat.
Chang Harmon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Jones.
Harmon throws a right and a left that both miss.
Harmon lands with a right hand.
Harmon connects with a jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones closes the distance but Harmon moves to the side
and Harmon counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Harmon dives in and grabs Jones's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes down on Harmon's head and hops out.
Jack Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones lands a jab to the head.
Jones thows a body shot but no joy.
Jones tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Harmon defends well and Jones ends up having to push Harmon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jack Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Chang Harmon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Harmon tries to score a body lock takedown but Jones shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chang Harmon.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Harmon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
