The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carmelo moves into the clinch.
Carmelo tries to work over Lopez's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Lopez is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Carmelo is keeping busy.

A nice inside leg kick there by Carmelo. That's going to slow Lopez down.

Lopez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Carmelo quickly recovers to half guard.
Carmelo wants to control but Lopez is keeping busy.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lopez is keen to just control but Carmelo is a slippery customer.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We've been hearing good reports from Lopez's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Well Carmelo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
