Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alex Trager (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Abaddon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Trager might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Run This Town. Abaddon has chosen Final Countdown... as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Trager!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, The Abaddon!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abaddon doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Trager counters by clinching up.
Abaddon wants a takedown.
Abaddon drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
I was talking to Trager's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Alex Trager has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of The Abaddon.
Trager is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Abaddon gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Trager has picked Abaddon up - he's going for a ride! Trager dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Trager is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Trager takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Abaddon wants to control but Trager is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Trager passes to side control.
Trager is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Abaddon will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Trager is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Abaddon is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Abaddon sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Abaddon is not content to let Trager control the position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Abaddon makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Abaddon.

Abaddon looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Trager passes into half guard.
Abaddon manages to get to full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Abaddon looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Trager controlling from the top position.

Abaddon is looking for a triangle but Trager pushes his legs off easily.
Abaddon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Trager wants to pass the guard but Abaddon is keeping the position.
Trager postures up.
Trager trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Abaddon can't keep his opponent in guard - Trager advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Trager is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Abaddon!
Trager avoids the attempt from Abaddon to control.

Trager swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Abaddon is now in Trager's guard. A big mistake from Trager there, giving up the dominant position!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Trager wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Abaddon trying to control the position from guard on top but Trager is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Trager pulls Abaddon in close to prevent any damage.

Abaddon postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Trager is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Abaddon, into his guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Trager controls from within his opponent's guard.
Trager trying to control but Abaddon is working from the bottom.
Trager passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Abaddon is not content to let Trager control the position.

That's six minutes gone in the round.

Trager tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Abaddon tries to bench press Trager off him but Trager keeps the position.
Abaddon wants to control but Trager postures up.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Abaddon manages to work his way to half guard, despite Trager's best efforts.
Abaddon is in trouble now - Trager has advanced to mount!
Trager looking to control but Abaddon is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Trager moves to the back position.
Trager biding his time, looking for the opening.
Abaddon is really stuck here.

Trager working for a choke but Abaddon is defending well.
Abaddon is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Trager off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Abaddon is holding on to Trager 's glove but Trager gets free and slips his arm under Abaddon 's chin. This could be big trouble! Yes, Abaddon is tapping furiously and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Alex Trager!
A victorious Alex Trager thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
In defeat, The Abaddon stepped up to the mic, saying 'You might think that this is all fun and games in here? This is real life. This is what drives me. You people...you drive me to succeed. Thank you for pushing me to get in this cage time and again.'.
