Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrei Arlovski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John MacTavish!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arlovski staying out of range there.
MacTavish fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Arlovski manages to avoid it.
Arlovski looks to land a left hand but MacTavish moved out of range nicely.
MacTavish wants to clinch
enabling Arlovski to counter with a crisp jab.

MacTavish moves into the clinch successfully.
Arlovski has MacTavish pressed against the cage, preventing MacTavish from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
MacTavish tries to break the clinch but Arlovski is controlling the position.

and MacTavish takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

MacTavish does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
MacTavish getting the better of the striking in that exchange.


It looks like Andrei Arlovski has been cut.
MacTavish tries to clinch up but Arlovski circles away and keeps his distance.
MacTavish pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Arlovski dips to his left and cracks MacTavish with an uppercut!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Arlovski keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
MacTavish moves in looking to clinch but Arlovski pushes him off.
Arlovski scores with a body shot.
MacTavish fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Arlovski manages to avoid it.

Arlovski cracks MacTavish with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Arlovski throws a hook but MacTavish blocks it.
MacTavish fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Arlovski avoids it really well and circles away.
Andrei Arlovski is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
MacTavish tries to close the distance and clinch but Arlovski swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Arlovski punishes MacTavish's body with a nice straight punch.
Arlovski really is a fat lump.

Arlovski avoids the body shot from MacTavish.

Arlovski gets tackled into the cage by MacTavish. MacTavish maintains the clinch.

Arlovski has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
MacTavish tries to break free but Arlovski pushes him back against the cage.

Arlovski breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
MacTavish doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Arlovski counters with a stiff right hand.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

MacTavish doesn't manage to clinch there - Arlovski circles away.
MacTavish tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Arlovski counters with a stiff right hand.

Arlovski connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between MacTavish's hands.
MacTavish tries to clinch
and Arlovski makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Arlovski. No joy for MacTavish on that attempt.
MacTavish takes one to the side of the head.
MacTavish throws a looping overhand right but Arlovski ducks down to avoid it.
Arlovski smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
MacTavish closes the distance and clinches up with Arlovski, looking for a takedown. MacTavish pushes Arlovski against the cage but Arlovski circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Andrei Arlovski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John MacTavish.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Arlovski swats away the attempt to clinch by MacTavish.
MacTavish throws a leg kick but Arlovski sees it coming and checks it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John MacTavish dominated that round.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

MacTavish wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Arlovski has him pressed against the cage.
Arlovski stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
MacTavish is looking to break free of the clinch but Arlovski has double underhooks.
Arlovski is trying to push MacTavish away but MacTavish has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
MacTavish keeps control of Arlovski as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Arlovski breaks from the clinch.
Arlovski looks to land a left hand but MacTavish moved out of range nicely.
John MacTavish seems to be getting the better of the standup.
MacTavish tries to clinch up but Arlovski circles away and keeps his distance.
MacTavish moves out of range as Arlovski strikes.
Arlovski defends well against a solid takedown attempt from MacTavish.
MacTavish is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Arlovski.

MacTavish drops Arlovski with a left right combo! MacTavish follows him down to the ground into side control.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
MacTavish content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Arlovski avoids any damage from the ground and pound of MacTavish.
Arlovski is trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

MacTavish working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
MacTavish creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.


Andrei Arlovski's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
MacTavish is putting a hurting on Arlovski here, landing some big shots from side control.


Jeez, Andrei Arlovski's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
