The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith thows a body shot but no joy.
Webb shoots for a takedown but Smith saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Webb has been working on his boxing with his coaches at 11th Planet Fitness ($100/wk) in the buildup to the fight.
Webb misses with a hook to the body

and Smith counters with a shoot takedown. Webb fights it but they end up in guard.
Webb is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Smith tries to stand but Webb is controlling from the bottom.
Smith with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Smith is pushing down on Webb's leg trying to pass to half guard. Webb is fighting to maintain full guard but Smith has managed to sneak the leg through.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
