Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kita Zen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kita Zen has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jake Edgar's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Edgar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kita Zen!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edgar tries to bum rush Zen with a series of wild strikes but Zen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Edgar falls off balance throwing a combination

and Zen moves into the clinch.
Edgar managing to block the knees to the body from Zen.
Zen crunches a lovely knee into Edgar's ribcage.
Zen lands an elbow inside that Edgar shrugs off.
Edgar takes a knee to the side of the body.
Nice elbow from Zen.
Zen prevents a takedown attempt there.
Edgar is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Zen lands a damaging elbow.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Zen manages to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Zen wants to get back to his feet but Edgar is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Edgar has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Zen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Edgar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

No joy there for Zen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Edgar manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Zen on his heels. He'll look to pass Zen's guard now, I'm sure.

Zen is looking to stand up but Edgar isn't so interested in that idea.

Zen is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Edgar is aware though and is defending well.

Edgar stands and steps away. Zen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Edgar throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Edgar shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Zen manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Edgar stands and steps away. Zen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Zen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Edgar moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Edgar drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Edgar gets to his feet. Zen looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kita Zen will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Zen counters with a good, hard body kick but Edgar shrugs it off.

Edgar fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Zen to the ground. Edgar is now in Zen's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jake Edgar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Zen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Edgar's best efforts.

Zen throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Zen is looking to stand up but Edgar isn't so interested in that idea.
Edgar wants to stand but Zen has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Zen is looking for a sweep.
Edgar is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Zen's shoulder. That is not cool.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Edgar decides to stand up, so the ref orders Zen to his feet.
Jake Edgar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Zen misses with a two punch combination.

Edgar shoots in for a double leg but Zen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Edgar closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Edgar lands in his opponent's guard.

Edgar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Zen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Edgar has managed to get both his arms back between Zen's legs - danger averted.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Edgar throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Zen stuffs the takedown attempt from Edgar. Edgar gets slowly back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Edgar throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Edgar dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Zen turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Edgar moves out of range as Zen throws a body kick.
Zen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Edgar cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Zen has closed the distance and engaged Edgar in a clinch.
Edgar is looking for a takedown.
Edgar takes an elbow to the temple.

Zen manages to break the clinch.
Zen scores with a kick to the body.

Zen forces Edgar back against the cage and clinches.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Edgar decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Zen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Zen misses with a takedown
and Edgar counters with a stiff right hand.
Edgar bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Zen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Zen looks for a takedown but Edgar sprawls well.
Jake Edgar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kita Zen.
Zen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Zen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Edgar avoids it really well and circles away.

Zen is pushing Edgar's head away, looking to escape. Edgar manages to hold on to the position though.

Kita Zen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zen misses with an attempted mid kick.
Edgar lands a really nice looking cross but Zen seems unphased.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zen tries to clinch but Edgar is having none of it.
Zen throws a series of punches but Edgar moves out of range.
Edgar pivots, looking for a leg kick but Zen is out of range and Edgar settles back down.

Edgar feints and as Zen raises his hands in defense, Edgar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Zen looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Edgar has picked Zen up and slammed him! Zen can't keep hold of the triangle and Edgar manages to pass to side control!

Zen is looking to escape.

Edgar stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Zen to get to his feet.

Edgar shoots in and gets a takedown into Zen's guard.

Zen has his foot on Edgar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Edgar works his way back into a safe position though.

Zen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Edgar's waist but Edgar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Zen off to one side.

Edgar closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Zen to the mat! Zen manages to get full guard.
