Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bret Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dump Liddel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hart might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bang Your Head. Bret Hart has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bret Hart!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dump Liddel!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddel tests Hart's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Liddel throws a nice looking combination but Hart bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hart misses with a head kick.
Liddel misses with a series of wild punches.
Liddel throws a right and a left that both miss.
Liddel looks to land a right hand but Hart moved out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hart feints and as Liddel raises his hands in defense, Hart changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Liddel wants to get back to his feet but Hart is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Hart wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Liddel, who protects the arm well.

Liddel's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Hart wants to finish this one by submission but Liddel is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hart.

Hart is looking to take a break and control but Liddel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hart has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Hart tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Hart is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Liddel is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Liddel is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hart creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Hart has Liddel pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hart pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Liddel tumbling to the mat - Hart dives into Liddel's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Hart sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Liddel's guard.

Hart has hold of Liddel's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Liddel tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hart cranks the arm and Liddel screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Liddel, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 5, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Bret Hart!
