Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zachary Hooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richie Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richie Hart has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Zachary Hooper's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zachary Hooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Richie Hart!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooper walks into a left hand.
Hart thumps Hooper with a low kick.
Richie Hart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hooper tries to clinch there but Hart circles away.
Hart throws a low kick but it's checked well by Hooper.
Some wild striking there from Hart.
Hooper stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hart.
Hart throws a low kick but it's checked well by Hooper.
Hart finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hart looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hooper dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hart fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hooper manages to avoid it.

Hart scores with a takedown into Hooper's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hooper is pulling down on Hart's head. It's preventing any offense from Hart, at least for the moment.

Hart wants to get up but he can't break Hooper's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Zachary Hooper just wasn't active enough.
Hooper keeps the fight on the outside.
Hooper throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hart.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hart, right into the meat.

Hooper fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hart to the ground. Hooper is now in Hart's guard.
Hart wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hooper manages to pass to side control.

Hart tries to kick Hooper off but Hooper keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Hooper thows a huge punch but Hart dodges it nicely.
Hooper takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Hooper thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hart's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hooper content to control rather than advance.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Zachary Hooper just wasn't active enough.
Hart buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Hart is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hooper controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hooper looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hart!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hooper tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zachary Hooper dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Hart scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Hart tries a low kick but Hooper avoids it.
Hart motions for Hooper to come forward. Hart throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Hooper blocks a low kick nicely.
Hart fakes the leg kick and cracks Hooper in the body.
Hooper shoots in looking for a takedown but Hart manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hooper's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hart tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hooper swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Zachary Hooper is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hart shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hooper but Hooper pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hart tries to score with a low kick but Hooper moves his leg out of the way.
Hart ducks under a wild hook from Hooper.
Hart misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hooper.

Hart tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hooper was well out of range. Poor timing from Hart.
Hooper shoots for a double leg takedown but Hart sprawls well. He's pushed Hooper's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hooper drives through with a takedown into Hart's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Hooper might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hart dives in and grabs Hooper's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hooper pushes down on Hart's head and hops out.

Hooper shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hart manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hart is breathing heavily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Hooper wants to pass the guard but Hart is keeping the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Zachary Hooper wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Hooper takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Hooper throws a solid leg kick but Hart takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hooper.
Hart throws a leg kick but Hooper checks it.
Hooper swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Hart turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Hooper avoids a kick to the body.
Hooper throws a wild body kick that Hart sees coming a mile off.
An inside leg kick lands from Hart.
Hart lands a jab to Hooper's midsection.
Hart goes for a double leg but Hooper avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hooper continues to drive forward.
Zachary Hooper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richie Hart.

Hart stops a takedown attempt from Hooper.
Hart is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hooper manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Hart breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Zachary Hooper will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Hooper tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hart swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hart moves in looking to clinch but Hooper pushes him off.
Hart looks to land a combination but Hooper avoids it well.

Hooper throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hart tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hooper is in Hart's guard.
Hart wants to control the position but Hooper says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Hooper seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hart for as long as he can get away with.

Hooper perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Zachary Hooper has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Hart bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hooper's head backwards.
Hart misses with a two punch combination.

Hart tries to sprawl but Hooper drives through with a takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hooper in particular looking to stall.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hooper's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hooper, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
